PLAN - HOW TO GET INVOLVED
The only thing you need to get involved is a motivated school and or youth group. Call Kim Gallick at 685-3317 and let her know you would like to get involved. You can choose to sell tickets to our fireworks show or have a game or food booth down at the event. You do not have to have a booth at the event to sell tickets, but you do have to sell tickets to have a booth. A minimum of fifty tickets must be sold if you choose to sell tickets. The split on the tickets and the income from the booths is 70% to the school 30% to the Monte Foundation. The 30% is used to pay for the event. Do plan on attending the informational meeting, Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Aptos Library, 7695 Soquel Drive, Aptos CA from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ~ Print out the flyer

MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND RUMORS
Is there a paid staff for the Monte Foundation?
The Monte Foundation was started by Marcus Monte as a way of thanking the community for their support of the Monte Family business Deluxe Foods of Aptos. There is no paid staff. The office is part of Deluxe Foods of Aptos corporate offices. There is no overhead for the Foundation, other than the costs associated with putting on an event for thirty thousand people, with the largest fireworks display in Santa Cruz County.
What is the exact split of the proceeds?
The ticket and booth split is the same. Seventy percent of both go to the schools and thirty percent goes to the Monte Foundation.
Where does the thirty percent go that the Monte Foundation gets?
The thirty percent the Monte Foundation receives goes to putting on the fireworks display and event down on the beach.
I hear the Monte Foundation has millions in the bank. What is the money used for?
The Monte Foundation was set up as a conduit for the schools to receive funds from our annual event. The Monte Foundation savings consists of the money used for the five-year and top selling ticket bonuses. The savings account never will exceed $100,000. Once again, no millions of dollars, just an account that holds the money for the bonus money that is channeled back to the schools.
What separates the Monte Foundation from other Foundations?
No paid staff, no overhead to run the foundation, one hundred percent of the profit goes to the schools and youth organizations. No other foundation in Santa Cruz County can state that.
How much have the participating schools earned in the past?
